Once you have purchased a print from Digital Photo Arts Lab, you can
display it without a distracting glass covering! Our print surfaces are
more durable, but even if your print becomes damaged, a flawless new
copy will always be readily available!
You’ll immediately notice that the photographs produced by Digital Photo Arts Lab appear to have more vibrant colors and unusual clarity. It is not uncommon for large prints to appear almost three-dimensional because of the sharpness of the image. Perhaps you’ll agree that this degree of clarity is almost impossible to achieve with today’s photographic films and chemical printing processes.
These image traits, as well as print archival qualities, are the result of our computerized digital processing and archival pigment-based inks specifically formulated for photographic reproduction. Ink particles penetrate into the coating of archival papers developed to complement the ink technology, resulting in a print surface that is lightfast and less easily scratched or damaged.
Digital Photo Arts Lab uses a state-of-the-art professional photographic printing process and Epson professional archival photographic papers. This revolutionary process - a form of Giclee printing (pronounced "zhee-clay") - is currently the highest quality and most durable archival photographic printing process available. This printing process has been independently tested by the leading authority on photographic imaging, Wilhelm Imaging Research. Recent tests have supported Epson claims that these prints will last for an amazing 108 years or more when prints are framed under glass and viewed under normal indoor-lighting conditions. This is over four times as long as professional archival photographs produced with a chemical process!
Photo Arts Lab
.Caring for your important prints…
Photo Arts Lab
Storage and display choices for your prints will depend on the importance of your photographs and your archive requirements.
Since you are considering Digital Photo Arts Lab, we assume that you require some level of fine art photography, that your photograph is important to you, and that you would prefer to have the prints available for many years.
We offer you the following two choices:
Option 1: Archival Storage or Display
Storage. Your prints are shipped to you with the surface protected by acid-free, 100% cotton absorbent paper. If you intend to store your prints for many years, always place this absorbent paper between your prints and place them a clear plastic folder. Store this folder on a flat surface away from high temperatures, bright light and humidity.
Display. When displaying your prints, framing behind glass is recommended to preserve the colors in your images. Direct sunlight should be avoided. For larger prints that require mounting, professional framing services will be helpful in assuring an archival mounting process that will not destroy the longevity of your print.
These archival storage and display processes will help to assure that your prints will not be discolored, faded or blurred over time and may last for up to 50 years. Please note that Enhanced Matte and Radiant-White Watercolor surfaces are most suitable for long-term archival storage.
If you are like us, you have always wished that your framed prints could be displayed without those distracting glass reflections! Not to mentions that worrying about all those print archive requirements are a hassle! You've probably tried expensive, non-reflective glass, but still found that the real beauty of your print is always partially hidden by this protective cover. Not any more! Once you have purchased a print from Digital Photo Arts Lab, you can display it without a distracting glass covering!
A Flawless New Copy Anytime!
Not only are our print surfaces more durable than normal photographs, but if your print is ever damaged, just send it back to us and we'll send you a flawless new copy of your beautiful fine art photograph for about the same price you'd pay for a similar enlarged photograph at your local "one-hour" photo shop!
Your Original Digital Files Always Protected!
Photos processed by us will always be protected for you in our safely backed up encrypted digital archive. Once you purchase a DPAL print, you’ll never have to worry about losing it! It’s like having an insurance policy on your important photographs.

Please note that due to limiting factors, such as the grain inherent in high speed film, a lack of image clarity caused by inaccurate focus or a poor lens or insufficient image date available from lower mega-pixel cameras, not all digital photos may be able to be enlarged as desired. We will do our best to accommodate your desired print size and can often meet or exceed your expectations.
* Option 2 Replacement Photo pricing is only available to customers who have paid for Basic, Premium or Complex processing, and are ordering replacement prints of the same size on the same surface, due to damage to or loss of the original. For duplicate prints, please use column 4 Additional Print pricing above. An additional charge may be made for duplicate prints on a Fine Art Velvet surface. Odd sized duplicate prints that are between the sq. in. areas indicated above may be offered at a lower price than specified in the chart above.
***Additional prints of the same photo will usually require additional processing if a larger format is requested. While this is most often possible, this work will be charged at our hourly rate. When a smaller size is chosen, necessary cropping is included in the price above. We will advise you if the size you choose is not suitable for the subject in your photo. All prints will be cut to size, except 2" x 3" wallet size prints which will be printed on 8.5" x 11" paper. Please advise your preference for White Bordered or Borderless prints.
